Road verges in North York Moors

Posted on

PLACE volunteers have been monitoring road verges of conservation interest for several years, in collaboration with the North York Moors National Park Authority.  Volunteers make annual records of key verges and recommend changes in management to increase their botanical diversity.  This in turn provides better habitat for invertebrates, birds and mammals. More volunteers are always welcome but some skill in identifying plants in the field is essential.
