Peter Goodchild led this very enjoyable visit to the Mulgrave Estate, including the castle and deciduous woodland, which took place on Saturday 17 July. The Head Gardener of the Mulgrave Estate, Jonathan Parkinson, showed us around the gardens and glasshouses and local geologist, David Pybus, told us about the history of alum mining.
