Visit to Pickering Castle and St Gregory Minster

Posted on

An additional event has been arranged, as a follow-up to our recent short course on the Norman Conquest of Yorkshire. This will take place on Saturday 28th June, when Robert Wright will guide us around Pickering Castle and St Gregory Minster.  Meet at 2.00pm in the car park for Pickering Castle.  Entry is free for members of English Heritage but non-members will have to pay an entry charge (though we should be able to get a group discount if there are 11 or more non-members).  After approximately one and a half hours there, we shall drive to  St Gregory Minster, Kirkdale, for a tour of the church. Stout shoes are recommended for both sites.

There will be no charge for participants who attended at least part of the short course; others are welcome to join us for a charge of £5.00 per head, payable on the day. Please e-mail the PLACE office in advance if you wish to come:
