PLACE Autumn Events a great success

PLACE had three extremely enjoyable but very different events in autumn 2013.  The first was a trip to York Racecourse – a behind the scenes tour of the site, including the hospitality suites, the weighing room, committee rooms, members’ enclosure and the track itself.

The second was a short course on stained glass, which took us to York Minster, All Saints Church North Street and the Bedern Glaziers Studio.

The third was an alternative Christmas event, based on the Green Man.  After a fascinating talk by John Anderson and a look at Michael Archer’s collection of green men, we enjoyed a pie and peas supper at Bedern Hall, followed by a display from the Pateley Longsword Dancers.
